Sweet! Good find! I may have to keep that in mind as an option.

Truly a great find and thanks!

Funny thing though, I believe I found these folks before but their website wasn't nearly as nice and
when I e-mailed them a question if they were still doing crests I never heard back from them. Maybe
they were in a transitional stage of their business?  ???

- The crests themselves are reasonably priced and offer far more versatility. It's definitely worth
buying one to see how it would work out.  :)

Well I purchased one of these crests and it came to $55.00 with shipping. It comes with
two different mounts. One for regular storage/display the other with velcro pieces to attach
to a helm, which is simple, practical and a bit ingenious really.

Oh and Sir Wolf I think these crests would serve you well...
looking for something along the lines of a rampant lion for a crest for my helmet. any ideas?
  ;)

PROs:
Extremely lightweight! Lighter than even my current crest. Mounting scheme is as I said simple
and practical and can be mounted on ALL helm types! Very reasonably priced.

CONs:
Although made with more authentic and period materials, has a little bit of a "crudeness" quality
about it, especially the attempts to paint "detail" lines on the thing...I intend to paint mine over
with a more suitable shade of gold. I'm not sure if I'll reapply the "detail" painted lines.  :-\

Here are some pictures:

A picture of the helm mount.

Overall a worthy and viable consideration for a helm crest!
Thanks again for the link Sir Wolf!  :)

Awesome!! I kept putting off thinking about ordering one. I decided to go ahead and do it, so I just filled it out. How long did yours take to arrive from when you ordered it.

I'm getting a dragon in blue/silver.

It took two weeks to get it. It may take a little bit longer with a custom order but still
that's pretty good!  :)

Ok I need your opinions!  ;D
Do you all like the old crest or the new crest?  ???

As per Sir Wolf's Request...The best side by side I could come up with! ;)

The new crest is approximately 2 1/2 inches taller then my original crest.  :-\

I think the new one looks great! It's going to be very attention-grabbing at faire. :)

I think the old crest is much more majestic and rounds out your helm
with its presence and proportions.... ;D

lol, thanks guys! it's a definite maybe then!  :D

I think I prefer the older one because it has more proportional dimensions
to it. I love the new one's posture and accuracy of form...but the new crest did
require me to modify my helmet stand so I could fit it into its travel box...I also
think what bothers me the most about the newer crest is that stick impaling it in
its nether regions! :o

now i need to see two crests on the helmet together. maybe with a white fence with a path running down teh center. a path a path!

hahaha sorry man. how are the weights vs the carring(being the new one sticks up further, does it hurt the arm pit? etc)

just looking at pros vs cons.

for looks i think the old one, for more historical i like the new one. thas why i was asking all the other questions too ehehe

Perhaps a bit of shrubbery evenly proportioned on each side of the fence?  :D

The weight is nearly non-existent, but it isn't nearly as sturdy either. I can actually carry my helm
around just by my original crest. I think the biggest fear I have with the new crest is the whole
mounting scheme. I've racked my brain looking for a way and finally managed to drastically limit it
from occurring but it is still a possibility...what is this that I fear? - That single stick the crest is
mounted on has a nasty habit of becoming a weathervane!  :D
