Wonderful day. Ulric luckily found us when we arrived and then we just spent the day walking the fair grounds with him. We ran into some Templars and 14th century Doctors. We also met Lord bailey also known as Sir Brian.
Was a fun day.
We also told Sir Brian to say hi to Our Sir Brian for us on Sunday.

I had a good time, though I was wandering in the faire in full armor and because of walking uphill and downhill many times in full kit I could only wear my armor for 3 hours that day, plus the heat got to me along with not having much to drink. I may get a new layered linen Gambeson as a result but my comp Broke and I gotta replace the harddrive so thats eating my wallet up. I did luckily meet up with Aiden and Nate and we had a really good time, we got along rather well and ran into some reenactors. I even bumped into a few guys who knew who I was via Google images. My dad took tons of pics but my computers broken and I have to get it fixed so... it will be delayed unless my mom makes a shutterfly album.

We are considering hitting Bristol this coming weekend. It's about 12 hours from us, but I know the route since I pass it on the way to WMAW each time.

I'm sure there will still be a few pagans left at Bristol that need a good "converting". ;)

Speaking of being a week late for the get-togethers, I'll be at PARF this weekend. The Teutonic kit is coming, though I'm not sure yet if I'm going to do Teutonic both days or do one day with my secular kit as well, provided it doesn't rain of course.

Well, Sir Edward, if you are going on a bewildered out-of-the-way adventure, you might as well make an effort my way & stop by NYRF for a mead (or many this weekend). That is where I shall be. :)

I think that's a bit far from the Chicago area. :)

I saw Sir Brian on Sunday and it was a pleasure, as always. The pity was we ran into each other at the archery demo and never managed to reconnect. I'll be at PaRF again this Sunday, but I have not decided on kit yet. I my go simple, 17th Century Musketeer, since the weather isn't looking great.

My apologies for that Sir Matthew.  :(
I eventually went back to the car shortly after leaving you and having a couple of beers. My wife wanted to do some shopping and I just couldn’t keep up with her and decided to take the armor off and switched to my soft kit. That day I learned my limit for weight and heat as the coat of plates and humidity was my ultimate downfall.  :-[

I had the same problem with a coat of plates at DoK 2 after wearing it for a few hours I had to take it off. I mostly just go in plain maille now. Just maille alone I can go hours in if the weather isnt too hot. I may just go with a new layered gambeson to replace my puffy black one that has cotton felt inside. It's just too hot in the heat honestly and I needed to drink huge amounts of water.

It looks like temperatures will be in the '70s this weekend at Bristol. I think I'll do armor on one of the days.

So I ran into Norman Cary at PARF today and we talked for a bit. Really great guy. :)
