The original discoverer of the artifacts was unavailable for comment, claiming that he did not wish to be "badgered by the news media". :P
Per pale azure and argent, an eagle displayed per pale argent and sable, armed and langued or.

So a Norman, a Saxon, and a Viking walk into England....

Wait!! That was not a badger but Brother Patricius himself in his CoA form doing some historical soul searching into his medieval roots.

Has anyone tried to dig up more on this?

A badger dug a den in an area where some medieval people were buried. It found a coat of arms that was buried along with them, and a family crest. So it took the coat of arms and crest, and gave it to the first-born male descendent. When the man opened the door, he said "Wow, that's amazing!" as he saw the badger standing there holding his family's long lost coat of arms.

"It's not really amazing", said the badger. "The herald told me who it belongs to."
