You are right, of course.  I'm slowly moving toward that time frame but really, I'm also pursuing it from a comfort level and ease of usability.  Like I'm more interested in splinted arms and legs because I've taken a shine to Sir Brian's...and I've noticed he moves very naturally, not making allowances for restricted movement or a changed center of gravity due to wearing it.

Splinted armor is pretty, isn't it?? BUY BUY BUY!!! Mixing up leather gear with the plate doesn't feel as rigid, I agree. Transitional armor works real well.

I always fancied the splinted armor look since it isn't very common and some of my pieces actually show signs of battle wear since I've worn my vambraces and elbow cops during WMA training.
