As long as the costumed patron isn't off-the-edge drunk, and attempting to verify your steel armor is real by punching it bare-handed. ;)

Random thought ... would they turn away a sword belt with scabbard, if the scabbard doesn't have a sword in it?

i carried a scabbard there once and didn't have a problem.
