"It wasn't the reward that mattered or the recognition you might harvest. It was your depth of commitment, your quality of service, the product of your devotion -- these were the things that counted in a life. When you gave purely, the honor came in the giving, and that was honor enough."

Kingdom of Acre is coming up soon for the weekend of Sept 21-23, 2012. I plan on attending the event & camping. Anyone else making plans or interested??? It's in Orange, CT. Perfect event to rally & wear your best Crusader attire. Join the Order of the Holy Cross!!! Who's for a weekend of battle??? :) Hit me up & let's go get some infidel.

Unfortunately, it's the day after school starts  :P

Have fun though!  :)

Huh...and I finally found that matching coif I've been wanting for my hauberk.  Auspicious, no?  How far is this from Bridgeport, CT?  I don't think I've got anything planned for that weekend, might could do a daytrip up to NY and take the ferry from Port Jefferson, LI.

Lord Dane, what are the specific armor requirements?  I didn't see that on the flyer.

Uncertain myself as of yet. Nothing posted but contact the SCA hosting Marshal listed on the site for armor specifications. It's nothing more than a staged rattan tourney in battle form. But it's gona be fun!!!

Orange, CT is in between Bridgeport & New Haven just off Rt. 95. Not far at all from either.

Huh.  That'd mean my car would have to make the ferry ride w/me...might be simpler just to drive up the NE Thruway from the Rockaways (near where my family is).

If you are definitely coming, maybe I can help with the short commute. Whatever works for you.
