Pennsic
« on: 2012-08-14, 19:19:15 »

I saw Thorsteinn post this on facebook... A view of Pennsic from above. This is looking north from the south edge.  The field on the upper left is the combat list, and the sea of white tents on the right is the "Serengeti", which is where we've always camped. The main entrance is around the left edge of the picture, and all the way in the upper-right corner is the main parking area.

Sorry I missed it this year. Hopefully, next year. Couldn't afford Pennsic & Tampa in the same month. :(

My wife and I really need to plan on getting back there. We went in 2006 and 2008, and that's it. So it's been 4 years now.

I suggest saving up some money when you plan to go. There's a lot of shopping opportunity, and it's not all the same stuff you see at renfaires. It's shopping for reenactors and enthusiasts.

Need poles or hanging shelves for the tent? Garb? Leather or linen or trim by the yard? Grommets or aglets? Mail hauberks? Pewter pilgrim badges, or gilt spurs? Boxes, baskets, chairs. All sorts of things to be had. You can show up with just a credit card and a wad of cash, and furnish your encampment that way.

Or try to bum off your neighboring Barony for some spare change.  ::) Hey, it worked for me 1st time!!! :)
