Sergeant Nicholas Dickhut – Rest In Peace
« on: 2012-05-02, 16:46:32 »
Sergeant Nicholas Dickhut with the 5-20 Infantry Regiment attached to the 82nd Airborne was killed in action Sunday while serving with the U.S. Army in Kandahar province, Afghanistan.

Nick was known as Jacques Louis de Froi in the Society for Creative Anachronism.  He belonged to the Rochester Minnesota group known as the Shire of Silfren Mere.

A very good article can be found in The Rochester Post-Bulletin.

God speed, Nick.
"Oh, what sad times are these when passing ruffians can say Ni at will to old ladies. There is a pestilence upon this land, nothing is sacred. Even those who arrange and design shrubberies are under considerable economic stress in this period in history." - Roger the Shrubber

That was a very well written article that honored him well. Rest now brother and may the Lord bless and comfort your family during their time of bereavement.

Apparently he was a friend of the Captain of the Cynaguan Guard Titus Thurinus.
