The SCA is having a demo on Sunday December 18th from 11am to 4pm in the National Geographic Museum in conjunction with the Anglo Saxon Gold Hoard exhibit on display.

I am going to interpret an 6th/7th century warrior as part of the demo.

If anyone is interested in seeing the exhibit it might be a good weekend to go.

That I believe will be our Free-play Sunday @ MASHS which I don't want to miss.
Bummer it's only one day! :(

I'm not sure if I can fit it in either or not. I'll have to check. That day is VAF's holiday party.

I can just imagine what goes on under the mistletoe at one of those! I’m guessing best of five cuts! ;)

I think that's the "Yule Tea" at Berkeley Springs castle. I'll have to check and see. Thanks for the heads up.

Where is this going to be?

I know I'm going to try to be part of the DunDraCon Demo in Feb.

I took some pictures of Kim and I at the demo, cannot take images of the artifacts. I made the sword scabbard including the brass fitting at the top, the brass chapes on the belts and straps, the clothing and shoes, the shield including the steel fish cutouts, and I made the hinges holding the cheek plates onto the helmet which belongs to Chuck (sir Wolf)

Looks great, James! What's amusing is that without a sense of scale in the photos, and a nice large shield, etc, you don't look as tall as I know you are. :)

Ha :D. Yeah the ceiling there was at least 2 stories and the shield is huge. Most kids getting a picture holding it were just tall enough to look over the top of it. I think my shield is 32 inches around. I picked the biggest find because I am so tall. The spear is just over 8 feet long.
