Opening weekend MDRF
Sir James A:
--- Quote from: Sir Edward on 2011-08-21, 13:41:08 ---For instance, one of the guys we know (Rob, who is one of the yeoman at VARF now) used to wear this great leather fantasy "Dragon Lord" armor. MDRF got really twitchy about it and asked him to stop dressing up in it. Just because he looked intimidating. Even though he's one of the nicest guys you'd ever meet.
--- End quote ---
Is Rob the guy in pic #6 here - http://www.james-anderson-iii.com/events/mrf/2010 ?
Sir Edward:
Nope, afraid not. I'll have to keep my eyes open for pics of him. He hasn't worn it in about 2 years now I don't think.
EDIT: I don't know if the album is set public, but he has images posted on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.7613337342.22600.548542342
Further EDIT: I remember some people complaining about people with helmets or masks. Like, somehow hiding your face automatically turns you into a criminal.
Sir Brian:
Yeah I remember Rob's armor...it is excellent and a damn shame they had the audacity to tell him not to wear the garb. He looked sinister but is the nicest guy. Yeah how the management at MDRF reacts to some playtrons is cause for serious concern and yet how they'll consistently ignore completely obnoxious and rowdy drunken retards tends to make my blood boil! :o
SirNathanQ:
Man, those small children he's posing with really seem absolutely terrified. ;)
Sir Brian:
Well it looks like Hurricane Irene just might be there for opening day as well. :(
So far 70% chance of rain Saturday and 60% on Sunday. Question is to armor up still or don't go at all? On a side note I wore armor light last Sunday @ PARF and got pretty drenched but did not sustain any rust since I applied a liberal coat of gun oil before leaving for the faire and reapplied another coat when I got home a couple hours after getting soaked. This could be one of those times to stock up on more gun oil! ;)
