Come on Chuck start planning now! Two weeks in France with a two day detour! I am likely to have kids by then too but it won't stop Kim and I from going.

I wonder what are France's rules on reenactment swords since I will be flying in. I know the English have made things much harder since I was there in 06.

Maybe Sir Gerard would be amenable to us shipping him our tourney swords prior to embarking on travel?  That way you needn't deal with a potentially sticky situation at the airport, no muss no fuss.  Just an idea, apologies to Sir Gerard for volunteering him prematurely.  :)

Then there's the whole harness...will you gents be checking luggage?  I'm leery of doing so...my luck being what it is, they could lose the whole shebang and I'll be stuck running around in my smallclothes.  lol

For Hastings I had my sword, maille, and helmet along with my reenactment clothing in one bag. Shield I checked separately (was free in 06). My wife and I shared a bag with modern clothing and she had another all to herself :D.

Of course I am more than happy to help out in any way that I can.

I`m not too sure how the whole transporting of weapons and kit works from accross the pond but going from the UK to the continent isn`t a problem as long as you declare it and the reason for it`s transportation when you book tickets etc.

If you want I can look into this further but things can change so much over the next couple of years.

No rush, Sir Gerard...as you say, a lot can change over a few years so we can wait til we're closer to the mark.

Well gentlemen the clock is ticking down to the big event.

Lady Joanne, the troublesome Caralee and I are attending this event in 2013 as a warm up for the big one in 2015. If any of you find you have the funds ( and the permission from the wives) please feel free to accept our offer of accommodation and transport for this event.

I will of course keep you posted how it all goes and look forward to seeing a couple of you in the next few years  ;)

I'm quite tapped out for extensive travel due to Days of Knights expenditures, but I look forward to the updates and perhaps ... pictures? :) Have a great time!

I don't think I'll be able to do it, but I'm saving my coin now for this trip; Sir Gerard, take many pictures, drink a lot of mead and ale, eat lots of food and enjoy yourselves!  We look forward to details!

Just to inform any brethren who are interested, the date for the 600th anniversary event has now been set for the 24th to the 26th July 2015.

We will be traveling over to Agincourt on the Thursday 23rd, helping set up, taking part in the event for the weekend. After that we are traveling to Belgium and spending the week holidaying and getting ready to take part in a tourney the following weekend.

There's a chance I may be able to swing this.  Several folks from La Belle and DoK will be going.  Believe it or not my wife is pushing to go to this as well! :)  It's just very hard for me to make plans over a year out, but I will work towards this!

Is there going to be another one of these celebrations? Because I would be interested in going to the next one, even if it is 100 years :)
