It's a cool idea-- fitness through combat techniques.

Aw crap, that first one's in Cali and the second one's in Canada.  I like the idea behind it...get the more casually interested into working out using medieval style accoutrements; the SwordFit link incorporates modern physical fitness training interspersed with sword-centric exercises...that would be a lot of fun I think.

We need something like that here- but it would need to be stressed that you'll not be MadMartigan upon completion, just that you'll be in shape and better able to swing a sword.  :)

I think VAF is thinking of starting up something similar at some point.

Combat for fitness, interesting idea!  The fitness world moves from one craze to another and a simplified version of "WMA fitness" could provide welcome income for schools.  A few folks might even get interested enough to enroll in the real classes.

I think that'd be cool...casual observers who may have always wanted to know what swords were about but didn't necessarily want to wade into the medieval pool- this might serve to draw them in.

What'd be really cool is if they had aerobics classes in FULL ARMOR!  Hey, it'd be like old times except our lives wouldn't depend on it.  Our health might, though.
