Military Heritage Days
« on: 2011-05-01, 22:44:05 »
The Army Heritage Center at Carlise is hosting Military Heritage Days on May 21-22 from 9am to 5pm. The 16th/17th Century reenacting group I am part of is going to be demonstrating there that weekend. For this event we will be portraying a colonial militia during 1600s. I don't know exacly what we will be doing, but I am sure matchlock and pike demos will be on the bill.

What group are you in? Sounds like a cool event I wish I was free that weekend.

This event I'm working with Beltuinn's Free Company of Foote, but we are portraying ourselves as the Massachuessetts Militia circa 1636. This group does late 16th to mid 17th century and tweaks itself to the particular event they are doing, like this one. They also portray and Elizabethan Trayned Band at the Pa. Ren. Faire. Military Heritage days should be pretty cool as it will have reenactors and displays from all eras of US military History and even some current active duty Army personel.
