The spring strap is made from pallet banding material.
The pins are made from 1/4" rod turned down with a 3/16" shoulder for peening on the inside.

The hook is made fron 1/4" rod hammered flat.
The rivets are 3/16" dome head.

now heres how ya do it :)  i don't think the hook is necessary or really all that period. the pin usually holds them just fine by themselves.
