Ok.  It is looking like I'm not going to make it...seems the nephews have descended upon my Castle and I may be called to entertain them.  They're good kids but they won't see this as an exciting field trip as there's no guns, or stimpacks or calling in airstrikes.  LOL

The option to give them a couple swords and some mail and tell them to go play in the back yard isn't viable, is it? ;)

Thanks Sir James, for organizing this trip. I enjoyed getting a chance to see how someone's vision for a modern castle has been coming together. Something to fuel my own fantasies for the future. :) I'll have to get some of the pictures up.

Sorry, family had plans  >:(
Anyway, I think we should schedule a trip during mid-summer (school and work will be a bugger to negotiate)

And Sir James, thank you  :)     Yes, it's been quite a fun trip along the armour highway  ;D    What's really great fun is that I'm infecting the rest of my small towne with the armour bug!!!!  ;D ;D ;D

This trip was a blast. Jim and Patty were very gracious and informative hosts. And Dupont isn't the only castle in the VA, WV, PA area. This may require some long range planning.

My pleasure. It was great to see how a "modern" castle is coming along. Thanks for letting me bum a ride when my car wasn't up for the task.

Yes, they were great hosts. Thanks for letting my cousin ride along when my car flaked on me.

I'll post my pictures in the next day or two. If we can find a good day for others who weren't able to make it to visit, I'd be happy to arrange another trip.

I wonder...they show minimal interest in my swords and armor but part of that may be because all of it is hands-off for them.  Kinda hard to get excited about something you're not allowed to touch, eh?  Well, they are 15 and 16 so it is high time, but only one of them would be interested I fear- and only if the other one weren't looking.  You know how it is.  At least until the bug bit him good and hard.

I am sorry I missed the trip....I was looking forward to it, but it was actually a blast hanging out with my nephews as well.  I can't wait to see the pics!

You know, I like this...always wanted my own castle.  Trying to talk my wife into it...she'd allow stone facing on any house we get...but no parapets or murderholes, alas.  :)
