This month I've spent money on this scabbard, a poleaxe, and a couple of shields.

And sabatons. :D

That too... but they cost little more than a tank full of gas. :)

Yes, unfortunately.  So is MyArmoury...makes no sense to me but there you have it.  Now...that is one amazing piece of work; quite possibly the best I've seen from him yet.  My goodness...my, my, my.  I noticed no belts...do you have an existing sword belt you plan on lacing it too?

Nope, it's such a large 2-hander that it's not practical to wear on your waist, though it's right on that edge. I'm going to treat it more like the larger landesknecht zweihanders, where you'd just sling it up on your shoulder and carry it by hand.

I've never seen the Dane up close so I had no idea it was that big...great piece of work there, sword and scabbard.

Yep, check out the specs on this beauty:

Overall length: 58" (147 cm)
Blade length: 42" (106.7 cm)
Blade width at base: 1.4" (3.5 cm)
CoG: 4" (10.2 cm)
CoP: 24.5" (62.2 cm)
Weight: 4 lbs 10 oz (2.1 kg)

The blade length alone is comparable to the entire length of lots of other swords. :)

HOLYYYYY...that's huge, well, long.  I had no idea...and yes, most of my swords fall within the measurements of your blade alone.  lol

All about preference!

And yet, still weighs under 5 lbs. So much for those 10 lb historical swords, right? :D

I never believed that...the 10 or 20lbs swords that I'd heard about.  Not even as a kid.  Of course, kids these days will base what they know off of the latest video game...take Skyrim for example.  Your average singlehand sword weighs in at around 12-18lbs depending on what its made of; two handed swords can get upwards of 30lbs.  I guess in a game that's cool, but in real life?  NAAAAHHHH.

One of my old favorites is Ladyhawke and I like watching it now because they really tried to bring some life into that old 10lbs greatsword type of fight...now, it is hilarious to watch.  And I could almost believe that the swords used by the actors must've weighed nearly that much, judging the movements and obvious exhaustion from wielding those monstrosities.
