Group purchase of shields from Allan / Merc's Tailor?

I've been exchanging some messages with Allan about the idea of ordering a heater shield from him. I had admired the one Sir Brian ordered, and never got the opportunity to order one myself. In order for it to be worth Allan's time/money, we'd need to order 3 or 4 of them. I'm checking with him on the price, but I think they were very affordable as I recall.

Anyone else interested?

These shields are really fantastic guys if you want a heater shield that is built to last and look great.  :)

I don't recall the sizing...which is larger, early or late heater?  Either way, I'm game...I'd rather get one from him than the one I was contemplating.  Sir Brian, any pics of the one you have?

I believe I have the later heater which is 24" X 24" and as promised here are the pictures!  ;)

I included both front and back so you can see the excellent strapping Allan does.

Brian, did he paint your charges as well?  Just wondering.  I'd be in for one of the larger ones then...especially with that strapping, its excellently done.

No Sir William I had a friend paint the green and white and I did the charges with a stencil I purchased and one I purchased and modified. :)

Ok, sounds good.  Will this order be going in before or after Christmas?

Sir Brian, you did a marvelous job then...I thought it was professionally done.  By that I do not mean I think you're a slouch...only that I know I am.  ;)

Of course, now I'm torn between the early and late heaters. Early probably fits my period more correctly, but still.. :)

Well not to add too much to your temptation but you might want to seriously consider getting one of each since you have a 14th Century harness as well and there is no telling when you'll get another opportunity to purchase a shield designed with such authenticity.  ;)

Don't think I haven't thought about that. :)

BTW, Allan says the Early is about 24" x 30".
