I really like that version of Ivanhoe. Robert Taylor is one heck of an impressive actor (staring in Knights of the Round Table) and he makes a seriously good portrayal of the main character.
The movie in summation is a good watch, only sad thing is that th duel between Sir Brian du Boi-Gilbert and Sir Ivanhoe is fought using Axe and Morning Star (referenced as ball and chain) and not with longswords (oh wait a second they didn't use them back in the 12th Century
)
The James Mason version is also a good film. I like the flow of teh film and you see famous faces including Merlin and Gimli
