Yep I have to pick that version up! My all time favorite version. The 1982 version with James Mason is my second favorite. :)

I really like that version of Ivanhoe.  Robert Taylor is one heck of an impressive actor (staring in Knights of the Round Table) and he makes a seriously good portrayal of the main character.

The movie in summation is a good watch, only sad thing is that th duel between Sir Brian du Boi-Gilbert and Sir Ivanhoe is fought using Axe and Morning Star (referenced as ball and chain) and not with longswords (oh wait a second they didn't use them back in the 12th Century  ;))

The James Mason version is also a good film.  I like the flow of teh film and you see famous faces including Merlin and Gimli  ;).

I concur. One of my favorite early medieval films.

I liked the James Mason version...as it was the only one I have seen, that's all I have to go on.

I first saw that movie version in 7th grade World History class on a projector film version. :) I loved it ever since.

I don't see mention of the 97 version by the BBC that has Christopher Lee as the Templar Grand Master....

That's the first I've heard of it, Frater...I'm a Christopher Lee fan, I'll have to check that out.
