I wanted to take moment to thank all of the veterans on the forum for their service and sacrifice. It is an honor to know you.

I get so very uncomfortable when people thank me "for my service".

I kinda want to say "I didn't do it for you."

Two days late! As am I, apparently. Dad is a veteran (Vietnam era - new england area), and my brother and I spent half the day with him - lunch, dinner, and some PC repairs.

As Belemyrs said, regardless of if you served "for yourself", or "for others", or "family tradition" - no matter the reason - everyone took an oath to uphold the constitution, and as such, all of us citizens should be grateful.
