Albion's "Danube"

Sir Brian, they have a griffin insert:   :)

This sword is really, really nice. I don't know if it's accurate, but I was told it would be "around $800". It's part of a new line of swords that Albion is making, the "hooked-X" line.

In terms of handling, it's probably a "true" hand-and-a-half, since the grip is large enough to accommodate a second hand (partially by gripping the pommel), but it moves nicely with only one hand. The feel is closer to a one-handed sword than a longsword, but it still has some length to it. It's really nice.

I think the idea is that it's historically inspired, but leaning to the fictional side.

*sigh*
Well I guess I'm going to have to go on the extended payment plan with Albion again! I think I'll try something a little different for the scabbard on that one when I finally pay it off and get it that is! ;)

I do like the look of it...I like the idea of inserts, too.
