18ga is crazy heavy.  I've worn a kit a buddy of mine has for the SCA, but man oh man can it absorb some blows.  It's a compromise for getting beat with sticks, way overkill for other purposes though.

I just gotta say, I really enjoy how you always seem to find the necessities.  I have great researching google-fu, but I can't seem to find the stuff to recreate it!

lol i've been an armourwhore for many a moons lol. i bought the first armour ever sold on the archive and have, made, sold, bartered, loaned and made others do so for 20 years lol
