Have any of you every played any of the "god games" from Peter Molyneux? Such as
Populous or
Black & White?
He has a kickstarter campaign going for a new one called
Project GODUS:
Project GODUShttp://www.kickstarter.com/projects/22cans/project-godusThere's about 50 hours left and they're still about £20,000 shy of their goal. I signed up. (BTW, there's little risk in signing up because you only get charged if they reach the funding goal. The risk comes after that-- hoping they actually deliver the goods later. But when it's a big-name game developer like this, I'm pretty confident they'll come through. These games are in genres that publishers don't trust anymore since there's no recent sales data, so they're going to kickstarter, cutting out the middle-man, and developing and delivering straight to the player).
I also signed up for these below, as they look fascinating (and the second one is being done by the guy behind Wing Commander Privateer and Freelancer):
Elite: Dangerous (after many, many years, finally a new Elite game. I never played the original but have heard great things about it over the years)
