So much for that as an 'out' per se...you have shamed me, Sir Ian.  I must needs build one too!  Haven't turned my hand to wood in a loooooooong time.

Looking good, gentlemen!  Its nice to have power tools, isn't it?  One day...one day...

Or to know somebody that does. Space and tools available, should you wish to make one sometime. :)

Is that an invite?  I shall take you up on it one day...schedule (and wife) permitting of course.  Thank you, Brother.

Indeed. We'll figure something out after Days of Knights.

Haven't posted an update for a while, so figured I'd post the status of the furniture.

Rope bed: Done
Slat bed: Done
Large (4') two-shelf table: Done
Medium (3') two-shelf table: Done, made two
Dining Table (6'4" x 29"): Done
Dining Benches (6'): Done, made two
Small benches (18"): Done, made two
Small chests: Done, made two
Medium chest: Done
Large chest: Done (hidden ice chest)

Instead of posting lots of links, here's the album: http://s156.photobucket.com/albums/t8/jba3/medieval/camp-furniture-drafts/

It has 3 pages of photos. I updated the chests from the last posting, and added rope handles on each, as well as medieval padlocks for all of them. The padlock hardware is from Home Depot, but didn't come in black, so I had to paint it. Turned out okay.

I don't have pictures of everything fully stained and set up, but I will after Days of Knights!

I can't believe you pulled all that off, Sir James...the rope frame bed is an especially nice touch.

The Order's master carpenter has been quite busy!  How the heck did you manage to make all of that stuff in such a short amount of time?  Bravo!  And how are you getting all of that to DoK?   ;)

I'll let you know if I find the "master carpenter", as I've only seen the wood monkey in the mirror. ;)

It was ~2 or 3 months of mostly weekends, some evenings, and some lunch breaks. And some late nights. And some assistance an entire weekend from my squire. And a very understanding and supportive wife!

For transporting, everything but the chests breaks down flat and assembles with wooden pegs. I'll be stuffing it in my truck, and I made the beds, dining table, etc, based on the length of the truck bed. Tent fly, ropes, stakes, clothing, etc, will go in the chests before putting them in the truck, so it should be very space efficient.

I haven't seen any pictures of inside the tent yet, but I know quite a few patrons took pictures in there. Whilst I wandered off into the midst of the field of tents, Chris said at one point there were roughly 20 people inside the tent looking around! I did find a shot of the outside, with us still setting up a bit:

Sir James' furniture was an absolue godsend. It looked great, functioned great, and really took the look of our encampment to the next level.  Thank you for the time and effort spent on everything Sir James!

My pleasure! As a cohesive group, I think the Order made a great showing at Days of Knights. If anybody finds pics of the interior of the tent, post a link or the picture here, please.
