Yet another tome to add to the wish list...what about him do you not like?

Found it for $25, so I picked it up. It'll be here in a week or two. I'll let you know how it is.

I think I may have this, but I don't remember if I ever really read or looked through it. I used to be a member of History Book Club and I think I picked this up from them on sale for really cheap. I don't think I ever got around to reading, though.

I looked for this post to reply, and stumbled on something funny.

:D

I received it and whoo, it's a biggun! Over 600 pages. The illustrations are just semi-crude hand drawn illustrations, no actual photos from my skimming. I don't like the way they did the layout; it looks like the entire text of the book is on "the first half", and the "second half" is the pictures. So the text referring to the pictures involves flipping pages all over creation - not a huge deal if it was a website and clickable, but on paper ... bleh.

The textual content might be good, I haven't got into it much, as I have two books on loan from Sir Brian that I intend to read first. :)

I was actually torn on what new helm to get for my 14th century kit. This book helped me decide on a visored great helm. If anyone is interested in a particular area, I'd be happy to scan the related pages and send em on over.
