Here's my heraldic heater shield. (late 13th through mid 14th cent.) This I also mde myself, with the same process as the Teutonic Heater sheild (I would be happy to explain in detail on either thread). Altogether, it's 1/2 inch Birch with thick canvas facing. This shield is wickedly fast and maneuverable.

Do it indoors, uniform sweeps with a steady hand. I've seen what happens when one attempts to spray paint in high winds...my brother's first car; his best friend swore he could give him a new paintjob for next to nothing- set up a stall in his backyard with unanchored plastic walls. Yea...that worked out GREAT. lol
