Dang it, with all these cool names you guys are tossing around, I need to get off my butt and think up some good ones.

Problem is, I have several Albions.

What I might do is only name them once they have a scabbard, since that is usually the only real customization I have on them, and I don't consider the sword "complete" until it has one.

That is an excellent idea...because you are not going to go to the extra expense on a sword you do not love.  I have a number of other swords that are nameless, either because I don't care much for them or are SLO's...or both.

I still have my first real sword I ever bought...a Windlass, discontinued model.  It has taken such a beating over the years...but I never gave it a name.  But I can't bring myself to let it go, either.

So far I've just been calling them by their model name. Baron, Dane, Knight, etc. Now I need to start thinking.

If you don't love'm, don't bother naming'm...but if you do, then by all means.  :)

This is true...but there's usually only one or two swords in a given collection that just...you know, you love.  lol

THOSE are the ones who deserve names!

With all this great discussions, I feel that I must jump in and state my piece.

The obvious Title I penned is "Knight of The Lion Blade" (now changed to "Knight of The Holy Lion), if I was to bestow a name for my Sword.  It would have to be a name that would have a ringing tone that is epic.

Ideas of mine would be "Lion's Soul", "Lion's Fire", or "Holy Lion's Flame"

Ok, they may sound corny, but it what I have penned so far.  Improvements are considered.

With the amount of swords you have, naming only the albions with a scabbard is probably a good start. Or we could ask for advice from the lady on that "19 and counting" show that has 19 kids. I bet she'd have some ideas. :D

That lady should probably consider naming her children after the cities they were conceived in.  LOL

I decided to name my soon to arrive Albion Talhoffer: Auge Beißer which is German for Eye Biter.
I am considering having the German phrase: Ich heiße Auge Beißer - My name is Eye Biter - engraved upon the blade.   ;)

What, not Seelenspalter?  Did I get that right?  I thought that was pretty cool...but so's Eye Biter.  Sounds Skaldic.

I went with Deus Irae for the ARN sword...it fits, sounds good, etc etc.  My next, and probably last, Albion is due in before the year's end.  It's a Crecy, and I'm already in love w/it so it'll need a name eventually.

Seelenspalter is the name of my Albion Meyer. ;)

I chose Eye Biter because of the blade's insanely sharp, needle like point that reminds me of the morbid nursery rhyme:
“Cross my heart, hope to die, stick a needle in my eyeâ€.  ;D
