Well, I smoke...working on getting myself a period-style pipe (or LOTR one, they're pretty much the same) - cigarettes just don't cut it.

only problem with pipes is... tobacco is a new world plant. hasn't been discovered yet in the medieval ages

Well since your personae is suppose to be a crusader, I guess you could always carry around a hookah and smoke some hashish although your kit still predates the hookah but a couple hundred years!  :D
