And on another note. I promised myself a tattoo for my 30th birthday. Economics interviened but as soon as I have the cash I'm getting a tatto of my arms on either my left or right shoulder.

I vaguely recall something about "the right to heraldic arms" in some sort of declaration or something a couple centuries ago.

There is one site I came across during a break at work that has a lot of German coats of arms of the Counts. It's in a "wappen buch" and I think I found it by googgling wappen book.

I have found a lot of other sites with coats of arms, but a lot of times I forget to bookmark them.

I thik we may have been discussing Knightly monikers or sobriquets earlier in the thread, and you may have stumbled upon those two rather unfortunate ones....

I for one couldn't resist posting my own bit of nonsense, juxtapositioning that with several real English town names of equal hilarious misfortune.  ;D

BTW the SCA no longer needs worry about crossing heraldry with legitimate arms as we got the OK from the UK & French organizations that do this stuff.
