Yeah, I'm learning the whole photoshop thing now (after more than a decade of Paint Shop Pro) since I managed to get the educational discount on it. It might be possible to paste our faces in on movie stills, or at least paste in some interesting backgrounds etc. Truthfully, I'd really like to make some nice poster-like imagery. Still learning the ropes of course.

Yea...didn't they do a Sharkfish or something like that? I thought it was hilarious. A giraffe-squid could haunt the African outback AND you know...the sea. lol

I think you're thinking of "Sharktopus".. :) I'd have been tempted to try that, but since it had already been done, I wanted to come up with something completely off the wall. :)
Someone recently posted a picture on facebook that had a shark in it, and I thought it looked pretty good... but decided to go with a squid for my first attempt. Here's the shark photo:

LOL at the sharkbird, that's awesome.
If I can make a suggestion, a simple 1 pixel black border around the edges of the photos might add to the shadow effect. You can also try to offset the shadow at 135* (IIRC) so that it acts as if a light source was at the top left, casting the shadow down and right.
I like them both, but the second one would be my choice.

Yeah I goofed the shadow a little bit on the last attempt. I need to circle back and fix it. The monitor I was doing it on doesn't show the subtle shades very well. Agreed on the black border. I did that on the collage for the wedding page I'm throwing together and it does look better.

Yep, it's 135 degrees, which is what I've been using all along. I just blurred it out too much (the laptop screen made it look very subtle and close-in to the photos while in photoshop).

I was hoping to get some great kit photographs next week at Lilies War near Kansas City. But, alas, it appears that logistics and finances may not permit it.

Well you could always do a backyard picture and Sir Edward could photo shop you onto a great background scene! Oh and we promise, no goat heads! :D
