They posted this on facebook:
"The Bosses Are Away Sale! Howy and Amy aren't away much, so when they are we like to clean house. We have several models where we have extra parts in stock and can build quickly. While supplies last, the following models are on sale for 25% Off!... Agincourt, Fiore, Ringeck, Hospitaller, Gaddhjalt, Laird, Poitiers, Ritter, Templar, Talhoffer, Arn Sword, Arn Dagger."
I haven't played with all of those models... but I have the Talhoffer, and it's one mean thrusting machine. Not much of a cutter though (in comparison to others, but still capable). It's optimized for the later-period armored combat roles where thrusting into the armor joints was the goal. Great sword.

Yeah, I saw this sale this morning, and have been whacking my head on the keyboard ever since. :) I've been really good this year about buying swords, but 25% off? That's a deal that's really hard to ignore.
If I get one, it will likely either be the Agincourt, the Fiore or the Talhoffer. I used to own a Talhoffer, but sold it to finance a custom sword project. 25% off means it would only be $600, and I think this time I would want a waisted grip. Oh, decisions...

Yeah, the Agincourt, Ringeck, Fiore, and Talhoffer all look like they have the same blade, so I suspect that's why they're all on this list together. If I didn't already have the Talhoffer, I'd be highly tempted by the Ringeck, Agincourt, or Fiore. I'm a sucker for wheel pommels, visually speaking, but that Ringeck is really nice too.
Hah, maybe I should sell you my Talhoffer so I can get a Fiore/Ringeck. You'd be stuck with an oxblood non-waisted grip though. :)
25% is really hard to ignore, but I also just got an Albion last month, and I just reserved a spot in Christian Fletcher's queue for a scabbard for my Chevalier. Gah! They're really good at getting me to part with my money. Damn them. :)
-
Heh, and I'm also looking into a scabbard from DBK (http://www.dbkcustomswords.com/index.html (http://www.dbkcustomswords.com/index.html)), so I really don't need more swords.. I need scabbards for the ones I have!

So, what did you buy me? :)

So, what did you buy me? :)
Everything. And by everything, I mean absolutely nothing. :)

Aw shucks, you shouldn't have. :)

Man, I've been so good this year....
I just bought that Talhoffer with a red waisted grip. I found an image of a waisted grip Talhoffer online and decided I liked it even more than the tapered grip (which I used to have), so I went with it.
So much for not buying any more swords for the rest of the year. :)
-
Hah, awesome. I knew it! :)
Can't wait to see it. I want to see how much of a difference the waisted grip makes in how it feels.

Albion updated today:
"The Ringeck and Fiore's are no longer available during the sale. We still have Agincourt, Hospitaller, Gaddhjalt, Laird, Poitiers, Ritter, Templar, Talhoffer, Arn Sword, Arn Dagger at 25% off."
-
Good, two less temptations. :)
-
No kidding, those were the two I was looking at. :) But with expensive scabbards looming next year, and the Dane being a ticking time-bomb with an unknown amount of time on the clock, I managed to resist!
