Title: Hanwei Federschwerts on Closeout at Therion Arms
Post by: Sir Edward on 2014-06-10, 15:10:19

As far as I know, these are discontinued.

We've used these at VAF for some light free-fencing. They're extremely lightweight, and very flexible and "whippy". But they fill a great niche---  light swordplay without a ton of safety gear. A great example is doing half-speed, technique-driven fights in just t-shirts and masks.

I'd be tempted to get one, but that's kinda useless if I'm the only one who has one. And I'm not sure if I feel like paying for two right now. :)

Having said that, it looks like these may be getting replaced with a new model (or two):

Those look nice. Think Hanwei will make something similar?

Slightly OT: I have on of their 35" Rapiers. Anyword on when replacement blades will be back on the market?

These are Hanwei models, Thorsteinn.  They're being phased out for the new model(s).
