Well not exactly a very "medieval" setting, I had a blast at the Coldwater Steampunk Festival.
Apparantly my compatriot and I were the stars of the show. So many people wanted to say hi and take pictures. They also enjoyed the audience interaction that we did when we did our live demonstration of the 5 basic cuts and parries. Head, left arm, right arm, left leg, right leg. Then we followed it up with a quick duel between us. I think those pictures will be a few days before they show up on the site though.
It was ridiculously hot so I couldn't keep my helmet on for more than 15 minutes at at time.
Just a few pics showing off my new kit.

Love the kit! Also love the falcon. Any true knight would have had one.
-
wow fun!
-
mmmmm falcon. :P I bet he tastes just like chicken. Let me get some honey mustard sauce.

Seriously, it is a nice kit & the falcon just completes the accessories. :) Let me know when you wish to retire him to my dinner plate. I'll have the fire & fork ready for grilling.

Looking good! Armor is always an attention getter, and significantly more-so with a helmet.
-
Those arms of yours look familiar...Merc Tailor? Looks like you guys had a good time, that's what counts in my book. Kudos on the sword demo too- I know the MOPS (wink@Sir G) loved it!

99% sure they're his 14th Century arms w/integral spaulders & besagews
I think the upper legs (cuisses) are also Allan's work, too

Everyone has a great eye for Allan's work.
It really is nice equipment and it definitely got a lot of attention for the attention to detail put into it.
They are really mobile, but I am now having an issue of my shoulder points digging into my collar bone and just making things uncomfortable. I've always had this issue even with backpacks and rucksacks. More padding for that spot I think...

Excellent looking harness! I can't wait to see the pictures of the duel! :)

Trying leaving it pointed/tied a little bit looser first. I have no padding on mine, except the two layers of fabric, but if it's tied too tight, when you lift your arms the upper edge of the plate will start to push into your shoulder.

You're probably not wearing a gambeson or aketon underneath your armor, are you? In any case, try one of these out: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Brown-Padded-Gorget-Medieval-Armour-Collar-Substrata-protection-for-chain-mail-/261015429046?pt=AU_Militaria&hash=item3cc5bb5fb6 (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Brown-Padded-Gorget-Medieval-Armour-Collar-Substrata-protection-for-chain-mail-/261015429046?pt=AU_Militaria&hash=item3cc5bb5fb6)
might just do the trick!

full gambeson underneath yes. In all of it's hot, sweaty, stinky glory :)
I'll check into the padded gorget. Might be a nice addition have to be able to see it in person before I pull the trigger.
-
Well, I just pulled the trigger on one so I'll be sure to take pics at some point. Actually, Sir Brian has one too- not sure if its made by the same people, but his is a really nice one as well that he uses in his armor-lite kit, I think.
