I am looking at several expensive books. I just ordered a German book on medieval (wooden) chests, best there is on the subject there is. It is the least expensive at $60 too.

I want the new Wallace collection book: http://www.amazon.com/MASTERPIECES-EUROPEAN-COLLECTION-COMPLETE-CATALOGUE/dp/0900785934/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1317665943&sr=1-2 (http://www.amazon.com/MASTERPIECES-EUROPEAN-COLLECTION-COMPLETE-CATALOGUE/dp/0900785934/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1317665943&sr=1-2)

And the new double volume set of Carlo Paggiarino's Leeds armory coming out. It is the most expensive at about $350.

If my Albion "Albion" gets here in the next couple of weeks, that'll be my gift to myself. :)

this is the first year the wife and i will not be exchanging presents. we buy so much we want each year we decided to cut back.  a few weeks ago my mom and i split the cost of a gun safe. so i guess this was my present :) the wife went shopping on black Friday and had a pampered chef party and got stuff from that so she is claiming that is her gift :)

Well...I may be acquiring another Albion, as a gift to myself.  It is second hand, and I'm getting it for less than $300 shipped!!!  Not bad, eh?  Its a Squire Line Knight...

I wouldn't mind the entire catalogs of Albion, Arms & Armor and Odin Blades!

A buddy of mine on another forum...he has a tendency to vet his wares whenever he wants to start a new project and needs funds.  This guy has more swords pass thru his hands than a few...when VA first started collabo'g with Angus Trim, he was a test reviewer for some of the new model lines.  Anywho, we go back aways and he mentioned he was letting a number of swords go, including the BKS/SBG Bastard custom that took years to come to fruition...and the Squire Line Knight that he should be shipping to me very, very soon.  :)

I've told him before - whenever he's looking to sell some, let me know!

I'm getting a period belt new pouch and possibly a riveted maille coif. Still not the gambeson I need yet. May have to help myself to that one so I can get it tailored in time for wicked faire.

I got my leg harness from Allan, so that is a great start. I also want the book by Carlo Paggiarino, I missed out on helping with some of the transcript since I had too much going on and no free time, but it's well outside my normal "present" price range.

I'm getting a templar surcoat from my wife (BJ is making it - the lady who does Sir Nathan's), and a set of Historic Enterprises braies, hose and pourpoint (from myself). The things I *really* need are 30 hour days and yard tools that don't break every year or two. :D

The new Carlo Paggiarino book is on my list; likely going to make an order next month. I have the other two and boy are they pretty books.
