Title: The Gonfalon is on it's way
Post by: Sir James A on 2011-04-22, 20:59:13
I got this picture from Cillene at Dirk & Arrow of my finished gonfalon. It'll be here soon. It looks like it came out really well!

Pics will be taken and posted when it arrives. :D

Nice! Very well made!

Mine is: Azure, a point pointed and in chief an axe between in fess two arrows argent.

I have a simple one made by me mum some 20 yrs ago, and may replace it someday but it has given good service so far.

That looks great! Congratulations on your new acquisition!  :)

*sigh* I hope I'll be able to order one later this year now that the armor purchases are done.  :-\

Excellent! It looks great!

Maybe someday at an event we can line them all up. I bought mine with the thought that I'd fly it from our tent at Pennsic, since they're made with outdoor paints.

Oh yes! I could definitely envision that! I better start working an extra couple of hours OT so I can order mine sooner! :)

what do these run? i am wondering if they can make the bottom edge along the sides of the heraldric design. while i like them, i don't like the look of the extra material around the edge

You know, I forget the cost. It wasn't too bad. I think it was somewhere under $200? I may need to go see if I can find the emails for mine. You could probably ask to have the painting done right up to the edge. It's just paint (albeit a very tough outdoor fabric paint), so I would suspect they could do that.

What is on the other side of the Gonfalon?  ???

The backside is just blank, but the fabric is the same. It probably wouldn't hurt to ask if they'd paint both sides for an additional cost.

I think mine was $175, but if I remember right (and I may be confusing this with another item/thread), it starts at $100 and varies based on the complexity of the design. However, that $175 includes the paypal fee, the shipping, the wooden bar, and the rope, which could easily be another $25 or so.
