I had ordered a new scabbard from DBK, but this time one of the quicker "campaign" scabbards that he makes to fit his own sword, to looser tolerances, so you can order it without shipping the sword to him.
It's on the way to me now, so I'll have to wait until it gets here before I can test the fit. But the photos show his sword with the same grip color as mine.

SCHWEET. Always wanted the Albion Knight...of all their swords, to my mind, it is the one that suits me most and is their best sword. Thought about picking up the Squire Line variant and having a scabbard and suspension system built for it. Not gonna use DBK though, I have another craftsman that I hope, should his first project w/me come off successfully, to be using for that sword as well.

It's a nice sword, that's for sure. For me, it's kind-of a "workhorse" sword in my collection. It has some slight discoloration from the last time we took it pumpkin-cutting, which can probably be polished out, but it's pretty mild. Compared to my other Albions, I think it's not quite as pretty, but just "down to business" in an elegant sort of way. This one was a lucky find on ebay.

Very sweet!
If you don't mind me asking, how much was the scabbard?
-
I forget the exact price (and don't have the transactions in front of me). Normally it would be in the $600's for the basic model, but I wanted a metal chape, which added another $100. Then there's another $30 shipping. So I think it was in the mid to high $700's all told.

That's not bad for a DBK scabbard and suspension rig...I've seen others go for a lot more depending on what options they chose. Lovely setup Sir Edward...God forbid you ever decide to get rid of it but should you do so...
I am here. ;)

Congratulations Sir Edward. I can't tell if the flash is strong and making the leather look light, or if it's a lighter color?
-
Yep, it's a grey scabbard with black suspension. I wanted to do something a little different and stick the neutral colors to go with the black grip.
-
It arrived safely on Thursday! I haven't taken any of my own pictures yet. The shots I posted above are very good, though they make the scabbard look much lighter in color. In person, the scabbard is more of a medium grey, a little lighter towards the center and a little darker towards the edges.
And the blade fits perfectly, which I was concerned about since he made it to fit his Knight, not mine. Very nicely done overall. DBK does a fantastic job with these!

And have you taken them yet? :)
-
Not really. My house is all sprawled out with stuff while I'm sorting and packing things, so there's not much room to do photography. I suppose I can take things outside of course.
Bah, I'm so behind. :)
-
No worries...just something else to look forward to!
-
packing? muhahaha you know theres alwas a home away from home up here for them ;)
-
Yea, I can think of a few castles your swords would be safe in...and we're all your brothers so...you're good! ;)

I feel as though I've missed (or forgotten) something.

I just rented a storage locker, and am going through the whole house sorting, packing, tossing... all in preparation for my lovely lady to move in this summer. Youch... it's amazing how much stuff one can accumulate in 10 years.

Yep, and that was nothing, relatively speaking. :)
