A Vendel period fan, now are we?
-
Sure!
Due to what m persona is I can draw from a lot of what was going on from the time period I'm looking at. Plus there isn't a lot of forearm & shin protection for a guy running around in the late 8th century.
-
Sans helmet, I am a big fan of this harness:

Oh, to have the physique to fit that suit, the energy to put it to use, and the money to make it all happen. A guy can dream~
Bits and pieces.

Here's the front for reference. Makes me go all starry-eyed! Only $25k! :'(

Is that all? Heck I'll take two! Can I pick them up on Tuesday? :D
-
Y'all mid-period guys might like this one too.
Pics description says: German Knight, 13th Century.
-
Thanks, Red Knight...she's a doughty one too!
Rautskegg...I love it...I could pull that off if I got the padded jerkin, chausses and mail mittens. Oh yes, and the helm and shield.
-
Right now I'm loving the Teutonic Order, so here goes (I'm also planning two Teutonic kits, one 1375, and another 1330)
-
In the second pic, the opposing knight has his red shield blazoned with a white cross and what appears to be a white double-chevron under the arm of the cross...any meaning to that? I kind of like that...might be interested in making that MY CoA.
-
You know, that's a good question. It looks like a "W" sort of shape. I wonder if that's a maunch?

Ah, Durer's Knight, Death and the Devil, a most excellent image. The second one might be from GDFB's Templar kit- although I would warn Sir Ulrich, the woolen variant is MOST heavy. Perfect for winter warfare, if you will. I'd gotten a set last year and found them way too heavy for me to consider wearing unless it was quite cold out. Heavy, and well made- but too heavy for me. If you can get the linen ones, I would go that route- I'm certain you can get the surcoat in linen, but not sure about the cloak, I think that only comes in wool.
