Going to Sterling, NY Ren Festival for opening weekend. :) First time but looks great!!! www.sterlingfestival.com (http://www.sterlingfestival.com) Hit me up if you will be going or planning to. Yes, I'll take pics.

I'm probably not going to make it there this year, but it's a nice faire. Just be aware that it's a bit hilly, which is always fun in armor. :)

Thanks for input, Sir Edward. Any thoughts on kit for the weather there?? Weapon policy??

Been a couple of years but a fun faire. As Sir Edward stated, a bit hilly but doable. The beer is good, the serving wenches exceptionally pretty and the folks friendly. Be warned however that lodging is sometimes problematic. It is mostly a fishing haven so the reasonably priced accommodations are Spartan to downright seedy. :)

...The beer is good...
What else do you need to know Lord Dane? :)

The good wife and I are going ourselves next weekend during romance weekend. Anyway yes the terrain can be a bit hilly but their is plenty of shade and the people are friendly and helpful. As for the weapons policy, all weapons must be peace tied. I can't really speak for the lodging since I live about 90 minutes away from the faire on a good day, but the area around the faire is nice and family friendly so I don't perceive any problems. To bad you where not going the same weekend we where going I would love to take you around and show you the sites. The weather can either be humid or nice it all depends on the weather system, lately it been very wet.

Thanks for the offer. Sorry I will miss you. Ample opportunity for meeting though. I frequent NY faires now. I am also fellow law enforcement from Mass.

New England weather and the weather in the surrounding states are quite un predictable if it is in September to November expect to be freezing or sweating either could happen. If it is during the summer 80-100 degree heat in Fields also a lot of possibility of rain.
Any time during the winter you have got a foot or higher of snow.
