Sir Edward:

--- Quote from: Sir Brian on 2010-12-10, 18:38:29 ---You mean those same Victorian historians (that has a quirky ring to it btw) that gave us "Chainmail" and medieval armor so heavy that you had to be “craned” onto a warhorse and the swords weighed 20 – 30 pounds?  ;)

--- End quote ---

Yep, those would be the ones... and even worse-- "platemail"... *shudder*

Sir William:
What?  I wear platemail as part of my harness!  LMAO

Now that I've been learned, it doesn't look or sound right to me anymore.  But one of my favorite games, Champions of Norrath, featured chainmail, bonemail, platemail and scalemail!  lol

Sir Edward:

What also gets me is when a game thinks that a "glaive" is a 3 or 5 pointed star-shaped thrown weapon. Ugh.

Sir William:
LOL

That's what I thought it was too for a long time...but I attribute that to that 80s camp classic, Krull.  :)  It wasn't til I started doing research into the medieval ages that I realized I was very wrong about what a glaive was.

SirNathanQ:
OOH! I love those Victorian historians!
I think that Victorian museum curators and restorers also need a hand!
Great job polishing all the paint off of about every extant piece of armour! and we also cannot forget the countless amount of gilding/silvering/brassing that has been wiped clean thanks to their efforts!

A great job, those men and women truly deserve a hand!  :P ::)
