Sir Wolf:

so sad. i hope they can dig in and stay around. maybe do weekend projects or part time it for a while till things get back to normal. this economy is killing all of us small business owners. mine is down prob the lowest it has ever been and theres no light at the end of the tunnel either. sigh. still if anyone can help them out I'm sure they would appreciate it.

Sir Brian:
That is truly sad news as Allan is one of my favorite armorers, which isn’t obvious since 80% of my harness is his stuff! ;)

Well I was going to wait until next year to purchase some new items but since Allan may be working for The Man then I best get it while the getting is good. Sorry it was only a couple of things Allan but I hope it still helps!  :(

Purchased a Late Heater Shield (always loved that shield!) and some Besegues to add to the improved harness for next season.

Good Luck Allan and God Bless!

Sir Edward:

Yeah, I had already ordered the newer armor I needed, except I still needed some gauntlets, so I've ordered those as well now. I really don't want to see merc's tailor go under. There are so few customer-oriented armorers out there, and Allan is very devoted to his customers. It would be tragic to see it fall apart.

If everyone moves up their timetable for ordering armor, maybe it'll help Allan to stick it out a little longer, and maybe find some other work to do and keep armoring on the side until the economy picks up.

Small businesses are definitely feeling the squeeze, and part of the problem is that armor is such a niche product, and technically it's a luxury. It's one of the first things people will stop buying when money is tight. But that's part of the reason I'm still working on my kits and swords, even with a wedding to plan. :) Gotta do my part to support the industry that supports my hobbies.

Sir Edward:
Allan updated on Facebook that he's still in the game. People came out of the woodwork places orders, etc. Awesome!

Allan Senefelder:
The outpouring of support was really amazing! I'm thinking of trying something out. The industry as a whole is having a tough time of it because you guys are having a tough time of it. I'm thinking of doing something like a " Vendor Visibility " contest or giveaway or what have you. Basically, based on our ability to do so we would periodically buy gift certificates from farious vendors and makers in the biz in a decent amount like $100-$150 dollars, something you can get soemthing with and do something like  "for the month of X any purchase made with us will automatically enter you for a drawing at months end for a gift certificate from merchant/vendor Y ". My reasoning is that this will draw folks to another vendor as well, to check out thier wares and or serivces as they might win the certificate so will wnat to see what could be done with it. This would basically end up in a two way win, promotion for two of the folks in the industry and one of  you guys, the folks we depend on would pick up some extra purchasing power when times are really tight. What do you guys think?
