Well, I figured we could use an off-topic area.

So as a first post here.... I'm now an officially published author with 6 books out, as of the end of last week. :)

Hah... "author"... and "6 books"... crazy. :)

I'll be happy to sign copies! lol!

Nah, I'm not putting you to shame, I spent about a half hour on each one of those, and about an hour writing the Markov Chain program I used to generate those literary abominations. :)  It took longer to format the pages, create the covers, etc, than to create the content. The program I wrote would take only a few seconds to generate a book. Hardly an accomplishment!

The sad thing is that I haven't even read very much of what went into those random books. I have no idea what they contain. :)

I just dropped the prices on them a little. It's as cheap as I can make them and still have them potentially available through other online retailers (and only make $0.20-$0.30 on those copies). I suppose I can always make revised editions restricted to lulu, though.

I decided to flip through the Markov Shakespeare text a little more..

Oh, I love markov chains... a few pages in, it generated this:  "Exeunt all the world this ass!"   :)

I couldn't help it. I had to... for some reason that line is making my laugh hysterically.

BTW, I've created an online version of my markov chains program that will let you generate a chapter of random text based on the classic works I used for the books. Check it out here:

I liked this line from "Dickens":

Quote
'You'll excuse me asking for more, if you please, miss," returned Charley, whose grammatical education was advancing, but not of the whole better: 'Well!'

Hehe, yeah, I love the stuff it generates.

Well, I added hardcover versions of all of them in there too. I set the profit margin lower on them so they wouldn't be horribly overpriced for what they are. :)

Just added Jules Verne and HG Wells in paperback and hardcover, and added them to the online program as well. :)
