Doctrine of Rectitude
« on: 2009-08-01, 03:36:49 »

Hey all, I just thought I'd post this since I thought it looked interesting.

I was digging through old data on my fileserver, and came across this text file. The file's timestamp dates back to 1993, so it's been at least that long since I downloaded it. It looks like it's inspired by the Ultima computer game series, since it has a very similar set of virtues (though it's a pretty standard list, really) and symbolizes the system with an ankh. While I do this too, I wore my ankh for about 5 years before ever playing an Ultima game. :) That's probably why I downloaded this file, back in the BBS days, because the similarities would have caught my attention.

I like the idea of picking a virtue each week to focus on for a period of time. I remember doing this back then. Perhaps this is where I got the idea!

Yeah, OK, I've always been a chivalry nut. :)

I like the idea of picking a virtue each week to focus on for a period of time.

Why don't we try that here?  We could pick a chivalric virtue each week, and discuss.  We're still a small enough group that the interplay could have some real meaning, and it could serve to keep us focused on our quest.

That's not a bad idea. Maybe I'll go start a thread and get the ball rolling. :)

Do it man, I like this sort of thing.  Great doctrine by the way...we should discuss.
