The Black Douglas

(1/1)

Sir Brian:
aka James the Good is a book I purchased from the author who was also gracious enough to speak with me a bit and sign my copy while I was at the KYRF a couple of weeks ago.

This was really well written and I look forward to reading more of David's books. While we were speaking, I commented that if James the Good was such a brilliant tactician and inspiring leader then the battle of Halidon Hill would have probably had a much different outcome, which he whole heartily agreed since the commander of the Scots at Halidon Hill was the brother of James Douglas, who was woefully inadequate in comparison to James.
