Sir Michael:
The good wife and I are going ourselves next weekend during romance weekend. Anyway yes the terrain can be a bit hilly but their is plenty of shade and the people are friendly and helpful. As for the weapons policy, all weapons must be peace tied. I can't really speak for the lodging since I live about 90 minutes away from the faire on a good day, but the area around the faire is nice and family friendly so I don't perceive any problems. To bad you where not going the same weekend we where going I would love to take you around and show you the sites. The weather can either be humid or nice it all depends on the weather system, lately it been very wet.

The beer is good, the serving wenches exceptionally pretty and the folks friendly. Be warned however that lodging is sometimes problematic. It is mostly a fishing haven so the reasonably priced accommodations are Spartan to downright seedy. :)

Sampf:
New England weather and the weather in the surrounding states are quite un predictable if it is in September to November expect to be freezing or sweating either could happen. If it is during the summer 80-100 degree heat in Fields also a lot of possibility of rain.
Any time during the winter you have got a foot or higher of snow.
