Size comparison: 9mm rings vs 6mm rings

Also it was about 20% heavier than my 9mm hauberk because there's so much more metal per square inch. But I will say that maille was like wearing a suit of liquid iron. A friend once joked that the mesh was so tight even the mosquitoes couldn't penetrate it.

Incidentally I'm selling that hauberk if anyone is interested LoL!

Yes, the weave on it is substantially tighter compared to the 9mm. Extra weight, extra protection.

As Aiden said, post the hauberk up in the classifieds. I'm really tapped out, or I'd probably go for it. :)

Sir William:
I'm not yet tapped and I'm looking Scott so post her up there.  Someone'll grab her I'm sure.

Sir Nate:
Size Does Matter.

Stanislaw:
Holy crap, you've handled 4mm maille?  :o The smallest I've seen at the Met Museum was about 5mm ID.

Yep, it was 3.9something but close enough to 4mm. Here's a pic of the 4mm sleeves next to a set of 6mm sleeves made using the same rings as my pic at the first post:

It moved like it was almost water. It was amazing.
