Leather cover on scabbard core

(1/4) > >>

Sir Humphrey:
This is a follow up on the wood scabbard core photos I posted last week.  I finished the leather covering.  I'll dye it later after I get my buckle and other hardware from the caster in Ukraine.  I want to make the cuts for the belt before I dye.  I'm pleased with it, but think I can do better on the next one.  The butted joint on the back did not match prefectly and I got a little seperation near the top after it dried.  I'm also waiting on a bronze chape from Viking Shield that I hope will fit without much adjustment!

Ian:
Look great!  I would never know that this is your first scabbard.  I'll take one in red for my Poitiers! :)

Sir Brian:
Awesome job! The man has skills! :)

Sir James A:
Yep, nicely done! I like the little embossed bit at the throat.

Sir Edward:

That's gorgeous. New business plan? ;)
