Holiday Gifts!
Sir Douglas:
I got a nice little spread of books. ;D
I have big plans for you, Jo-Ann Fabrics gift cards. ;)
Sir James A:
Technically, I did not get any armor or medieval gear for Christmas. However, in a timing coincidence, I got a box today (Dec 26th) of some armor that I ordered from the Ukraine back in November. I'll upload pics in a new thread after I get a couple things squared away with it tonight.
Douglas - The Ffoulkes book is interesting. I've run through it lightly and it seems to have good info, I didn't see anything glaringly wrong or confusing. The Medieval Soldier is good too, if it's the one I'm thinking I have, it has some good "living history" pics by a UK group.
Also - where did you get that shirt? TOTALLY WANT!!
Aiden of Oreland:
All killer stuff! Sadly according to my parents a war horse from England was to unrealistic >:(

Yeah, I've only skimmed through the Ffoulkes book a little last night, but it seems like it has some good stuff in it. It was only like a penny on Amazon plus shipping, so hey...can't beat that!
The Company of St. George was involved in The Medieval Soldier, so it might be the one you're thinking of. Actually, they were involved with the Medieval Military Costume book, too. I sort of geeked out a little when I saw John Howe (the artist) was in them.
They sold the shirt at the winery at the PA RenFest. I got one at my last visit, and I wear it so much that my folks got me another one. ;D

You know, I have been going to the PA Renfair for half my life being a Pennsylvanian. But, I have never actually entered the Mount Hope winery. I guess I was always so excited to get into the fair and very tired when I leave because I spend the whole day there. Well it looks like I know what I am getting next time I am there lol. :)
