--- Quote from: Lord Dane on 2013-08-23, 18:09:27 ---I had a guy at NYRF when in full armored kit ask if he could hit me .... so I looked at him with weirdness ... then said, "Sure. If I can hit you back (wearing a gauntlet)."

We used to do "Whack a Knight" back in the day. Very popular. :)

I was a Knightly Pinata for a bunch of kids for 5 or 10 minutes at a demo a couple weeks ago.
Sir Douglas:
Okay, so I can now fully appreciate the thrill of seeing kids go, "Look! A knight!"
I had so many kids come up to me today at the Pittsburgh Fest. They all wanted to touch my mail (in fact, so did a lot of adults ;) ) and get pictures with me. It was a really cool feeling. And seeing their little faces light up when I'd wave at them as they walked by...priceless.
I was never terribly good with kids, but now I kind of can't wait until I get to armor up again just to go make some more kids' days!

It gets even better with two or three knights together. It's hard to walk across the faire site without getting stopped for pictures every two feet. :)
