Sir William needs some encouragement

The secret is hiding the extra funds from the wife (or the purchased items). ::)

Or separate accounts, and letting your wife buy shoes and a purse without saying anything. I have a pretty awesome marriage. :)

That's how my wife and I do it- she gets her shoes, clothes and handbags and I don't bat an eyelash...I get my armor and accoutrements and she doesn't bat an eye (although I rarely ever mention how much each piece costs, you know, if it ain't asked for lol). She has expressed an interest in buying some of this stuff for me but she doesn't want to necessarily be educated in what to get and what not to get, preferring for me to just handle that sort of thing. Works for me! lol
In fact, I'm going to be letting a couple things go in a bit...gotta make some more room for some more armor! But I am NOT getting those arms or legs- they won't match what I've had Allan make me up thus far so there!
I feel like I've been dodging errant sword strikes up til now! lol
Sir Edward:
My wife and I keep partially separate finances. We pay the bills, buy food, things for the house, etc, through a joint account, but the rest is individual. So the rule of thumb for us is "you can have whatever YOU are willing to pay for."
Sir William:
Another good way of dealing with it.
