We managed to find 8 ft poles (1 1/2" diam?) in the Home Depot near my house. I've been there at least 50 times; never saw them, somehow.

I still need to take some photos of my new banner. I may tie it to my spear at first.
Sir William:
I went to my local HD and all I could find were shovel and garden implement staves. Grrr.
