I meant "met in person". I've seen Matt Galas at WMAW and I think I took one of his classes, but never spoke to him. I've spoken to Steve Hick a few times, usually also at WMAW, but he's been to Longpoint and taught there as well.

Prof. Sydney Anglo
Professor Emetrius of the University of Wales, author of, among other books "Chivalry in the Renaissance" and "The Martial Arts of Renaissance Europe". Has also translated "le Jeux De La Hache" and other fechtbuch.

Peter Johnsson
A god among craftsmen, and researcher into the creation of arms.

Matt Galas
has been studying the fencing manuals of medieval Germany since 1982. A member of HEMAC (the Historical European Martial Arts Coalition) he lectures and writes on the history of the German fighting arts, teaching swordsmanship at clubs and seminars across Europe

John Clements
Known internatonally for his martial arts work and essays. Director of ARMA.
 
Steve Hick
has been researching European fighting arts since 1978 and has specialised in the study of the iberian montante, I understand.

Matt Easton
founder of the Schola Gladiatoria group in london, researcher and lecturer in western martial arts.

Michael Chidester
one name I'm not familliar with

Dierk Hagedorn
founding member of Hammaborg, and internationally noted among the western martial artists.

Bartlomiej Walczak
Authored the fairly well-known transcription of the Codex Wallerstein, is(was?) a director of the Polish branch of ARMA, and one of the founding members of HEMAC, the Historical European Martial Arts Coalition.

Fabrice Cognot
craftsman, historian, and martial artist. makes some pretty good knives and has made some fantastic warhammers. Also has liased with Peter Johnsson

Daniel Jaquet
and the other one I'm not familliar with.

Man, you totally need to come out to WMAW next year. Big names from all over the world come to that one. :)
